Mooncakes are traditional dessert of Mid-Autumn Festival. This Chinese pastry is usually not available all the time, only when the festival is nearing. They are round in shape, like the full harvest moon. Most mooncakes are eaten in small portions as the pastry skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling. It is a food to share.
