How to cool your mouth from Chilli, by the best restaurant in Zetland

Ok so we have all experienced a fiery mouth from attempting to eat more chilli than we can handle and with this comes the aftermath of a burning sensation in our mouth! So the best restaurant in Zetland has come up with a few different ways for you to cool your mouth from chilli.

Here at our Zetland restaurant we are going to tell you the Do’s and the Don’ts when it comes to cooling chilli in your mouth.

Do’s

One of the most spoken remedies is to get some cold dairy and truth be told this really does work. The dairy coats the chilli and starts to cool it down, don’t forget that ice cream counts as well!

Alcohol has the ability to coat and remove the burning sensation from your mouth. Be sure not to drink too much or let your children drink alcohol, there are always other ways to tame the heat for kids.

Use oil to calm the burn, olive oil and vegetable oil help cool the mouth by disintegrating the heat in chilli.

Then come the foods that have the ability to stop the heat from overpowering your mouth, be sure to eat starchy foods. P.S did you know that a spoonful of sugar or honey also has the ability to stop the burning.

Don’ts

Be sure to remember that water is probably the worst remedy for you try and use when taming a fiery mouth! Since there are oils in chilli it will only spread the burn further intensifying it.

So now you are ready to start tackling chilli and we expect you to try one of our Sichuan inspired dishes the next time you visit our Chinese restaurant in Zetland.

We are open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner, so be sure to visit the best restaurant in Zetland to have your taste buds amazed.
